Trilegal’s pristine space: a haven for legal intellect
Overview
Trilegal, a leading full-service law firm in India, recently inaugurated its new office in Delhi. With over 600 lawyers across existing offices in Mumbai, Gurugram and Bengaluru, the firm holds a reputed stature in the legal industry. After the successful completion of their Mumbai office project, Trilegal entrusted Ultraconfidentiel Design with yet another branch for their growing team.
Trilegal acquired a space of 40,000 Sq.Ft. on the first floor of a corporate facility in the bustling business neighbourhood of Saket District Centre in New Delhi. Drawing inspiration from the firm’s value systems of diversity and inclusion, meritocracy and transparency, the workspace carves out two sections connected through a central circulation core. One-half of the floor is dedicated to meeting rooms for confidential client meetings, while the other side offers the users an open-plan workspace and cabins.
A linear space oriented along the north-south axis with a glazed façade allows natural light to penetrate deep into the floor plate and keep the workspace well-lit throughout the day. Natural finishes such as beige coloured marble floor, fluted wall panelling in ash wood and extensive use of biophilia, carve out a workspace that is visually minimal yet experientially opulent. Marble-clad walls in the centrally located reception effectively navigate users and guests to their respective wings. A full-height atrium fills the reception with light while offering brilliant outdoor background views.
The entrance to the dedicated space for clients is marked by an office library that is carved into an interesting labyrinth of bookshelves. Easily accessible from both wings, the library forms the knowledge repository of the office and leads to the meeting and board rooms. The client meeting space facilitates multiple attorney-client conversations simultaneously, along with an exclusive client dining space for hosting extended discussions over meals. Cutting-edge technological interventions such as meeting room scheduling, sensor-based lighting, blinds and smart digital screens further enhance the seamless and future-driven user experience.
The southern wing of the floor constitutes the employee zone where the peripheral partner cabins enjoy the external views, while the expansive floor is utilised for workstations and casual seating clusters. Height-adjustable workstations, break-out areas and collaborative work desks make for a hybrid and flexible workspace that supports a healthy work environment and fosters productivity.
Additionally, the workspace design benefits from smart building technologies and energy reduction strategies through automation and a hands-free experience. The cafeteria makes way for serendipitous encounters amongst employees on typical work days with the capability to transform into a town hall to support larger gatherings and events on special occasions.
To summarise, Trilegal’s new workspace is a functional response to the working style and requirements of the reputed law practice. Hence, the design consciously balances brand consistency while effectively introducing new design interventions. It reflects the character and vision of the company and is designed to grow and adapt to the future needs of the firm.
